SON OR SUN ,SAME THING WHEN YOUR JUST LISTENIN

Sun or son do sound the same, like haw and whore, or gait and gate but their correct spelling is imperative if the intended meaning of the word is to be ascertained.
Words that sound the same but have different meanings are called homonyms.
here's an example

He had his beer from year to year
And then his bier had him.
