Inspired posting, Jimbo.
Thank you for this info - great reminder of many good nights.
Re 1974 Aylesbury, Ray is spot on:

That appears to be the Poster in the SH My HAVEN piece in yesterday's Mail.

SH has always spoken highly of the local promoter, Dave Stopps, who ran a record shop I believe in the town. Many huge acts got their first break at Friars. Great posting. Where do you and Stewart G get all this?? Astonishing information at times. Cheers!

The earliest recorded Cockney Rebel gig was at the Roundhouse,London(supporting Jeff Beck) on 23rd July 1972.The other pre-Human Menagerie concerts were November 17th 1972 at the Greyhound,Fulham. December 16th and 23rd 1972 at the Kings Cross Cinema,London. Also on March 16th 1973 they played at the Marquee Club in London. Ewell College on March 31st 1973.During June 1973 they played around 5 gigs at the Speakeasy Club,London. For all of these concerts the band members came on stage wearing white faces and dressed as clowns. It wasn't until October 6th 1973 at Reading College that the band wore the familiar clothing as seen on the cover of the Human Menagerie album. These outfits were eventually discarded altogether(not literally!!)somewhere around March 1974 when the band chose to wear more casual attire. If anyone else has memories of early Cockney Rebel gigs from 1972 or 1973 please share them with us.

Anyone can write what is already shown on paperwork Jollyroger :-) it's just down to us the fans to remember what gigs may have been cancelled or added etc.

Jimbo`s list............How the heck ?? did I miss TWO gigs at Stafford "Top of the World"..... :( ......Perhaps I thought that that GORGEOUS CHEEKY GUM CHEWING SMILE would never been seen in real life near to my home and only on "TOTP"... if we were lucky.
(I was however "allowed " to go and see The Rolling Stones at Bingley HALL nr Stafford...poss around the same sort of time.)

:woohoo: I now know differently and am making up for LOST time :woohoo:
Smile x
