  • Reassuringly expensive.
I won't be at Buxton, Debs. I left it far too late to book because I was unsure whether John would be able to make it with me as he had some surgery coming up and I'm one of those nutters who like to sit near the front....actually I think, at Birmingham, Steve referred to those who like to sit near the front as weirdos, didn't he? Anyway now I've booked the dentist for me and three of the brood on that day.....and it's me birfday! 52.....bleedin' ancient!!

So you'll have to pick Pete's brain instead.

And Debs...you refer to Gretchen as a great storyteller........I think you're a better one :) Lovely post Debs. You write as you speak....I like that.
If you can't say something nice don't say nothing at all.

Aw that’s a shame Stella , John and yourself are unable to make Buxton , could have been such a delightful time away for the both of you , that Opera house has such a romantic feel , steeped in wonder cloaked under a truly delightful exterior .

The building is Devine, inside its beautiful ceiling graces a room full of wonder, with its balconies of velvet and gold you couldn’t fail to gaze at its fineness, hold each other’s hands and smile at its splendour!

This is probably why to be honest I’d rather be sat anywhere other than upfront! Looking up! Nutters that we are! I admit ! Im crackers !
You know Stella I’ll always remember your sister Katie that way, ( not crackers ) just looking up! Always up close gazing, her eyes would never fall, she would be locked on to the man and nothing else seemed to exist ! from the time the man stepped into the light till the time he made his exit.she never took her eyes of him ! Never did I see her anywhere but at the foot of the stage gazing up.

To be honest I do like a room with a view, which is why I knew even before the tickets went on sale for the Symphony Hall I wanted to be up above looking down, so I could take it all in, see the whole amazingly conducted event! The orchestra the choir the band the Audience even the Hall itself (so grand and tasteful with all that red and gold) and of course the Man, centre stage while all around played! And to hear and feel the sound rising.Amazing.
I was in the perfect place for all that; did he really use the word weirdo? I’m not quite sure! I do remember he may have implied he thought some folks strange! He puzzled to understand why? And I’m with him on that one, for Birmingham at least!
Saying that! Even at an acoustic gig, say at the jazz café (not such a beautiful place) as your sister would put it ! ( a carssy ! ) back in the stripped to the bare bone days, I actually preferred the upstairs looking down onto the stage, each to their own though!

Standing for the full rock band is something else though! Sometimes a must! But then again it depends on the venue! But I do find being so close to the stage takes away the quality of the performance collectively as a whole! If ya get me drift? The sound, the lightingand all that !

Anyway Stella I’m rambling now! You know I’m off the dentists my self ! also! Very shortly in fact! So I best get a wriggle on …. I’ll be thinking of ya with 3 of the little kiddlings in tow
Really Stella! Now you’re not really ancient! Now are you!
We are just what one might say “Mature! “ we'll most of an age are!
Not me ;)
I still have quite some difficulty in concealing that child! , the one that dwells within that sometimes kicks in, when I get just a little over excited!
I’ll be thinking of ya on your 52nd wish you have a very happy Birthday Stella on the 18th Feb. and hope you manage to get to take some time out for yourself with John, it’s a must.
:)
thanks again stella, now put ya feet up and have a cuppa !

ah ! just a thought !some of you, maybe thinking ! but Deborah is always up front ! but thats only coz i've been easily led ! its not always the case ... ! not if I have my own way !
