Yep. That's me. Stella the star.
My father stood in the bedroom doorway, on his way to register my birth, poised with a pencil to write on the back of a small brown envelope. "Well. What's the child to be called?" he asked. My mother wanted to call me Stella Maria. My aunt, who was visiting my mother and a two day old me said "Oh no Dorrie.... that sounds like an oil tanker!"
I was named Estelle Mary instead but was always called Stella and I adopted the oil-tanker physique ......just as Aunty Jean had predicted.
