Oh dear. Poor Katie appears far too much here already. I just hope she doesn't post the picture of me with Steve here as well. My avatar is now a star. I've changed it a lot of times already. I'd like to put up a picture of myself (if I can find an old slim one) but my computer's been in PC World having a virus removed for the last couple of weeks or so.
Never tell those people that you're not in any real hurry to get your computer back. When I get it back I'll trawl my files for a decent picture. In the meantime, guys, where are all your avatars?
Im 48, married with 9 children ........and yes......we've got a telly
. I've loved Steve Harley since Judy Teen came out. The posters that covered my wall as a teenager still exist in a folder under my bed. I have almost all the 45's, albums and CD's that have ever been released. I've seen Steve in concert loads of times but never travelled further than Edinburgh to see him (where I slept in a camper van with my Sister Katie and Donna and Dave Hornby
). I saw Steve H. in London performing the Becket plays. I've met him a couple of times (he's charming) and he's played my requests on The Sounds Of The Seventies about four or five times.
Katie, my sister was always a Kenny fan but grew to like Steve Harley when she realised how much she missed hearing his stuff after she went to Uni. She bought some of the albums and took my huge Timeless Flight display board that I'd begged from my local record shop for her wall at Uni. Katie's come to see Steve Harley with me a few times but I was really and truly fed up when he tossed his harmonica to her at one of the concerts we went to.
She treasures it.
I was deeply jealous.
I'm always surprised that Steve Harley doesn't seem to have a clue how absolutely besotted with Steve some of us girls still are.
Amazing!
And I still have dreams about him
