Despite much enthusiasm for our Rock Icon visiting Warrington in the summer the reporter on this story thought that Steve and friends re-released Make Me Smile for Jo Cox.

And I quote.....

"Steve Harley, who has written and recorded 11 albums in a prolific career spanning four decades, recently returned to the public eye for re-releasing former No. 1 Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) following the tragic murder of MP Jo Cox.

Together with Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson, KT Tunstall and David Gray, he formed The Friends of Jo Cox and re-released the song in tribute on 16 December, with proceeds going towards charities the MP had supported."

Standards, eh! Steve will be amused and not at all surprised. He always says that when he was training as a reporter he was taught to check, double check, then check again. Still, we'll get on to them and have it corrected, so more publicity! RACHEL
