Up La Brea, from Watts to Bel Air
And it occurs to me that it’s no better there!

A lot of the (wonderful) album Hobo With A Grin was recorded in Los Angeles and Abbey Road (London!) also. Of course the first line mentions points on the L.A. map.
Great song indeed.

oh and the opening line I have always taken as...
ive pulled breath from watts to bel-air,and it occurs to me that its no better there (watts is a very deprived area of los angeles,bel-air is the polar opposite,very affluent)...two districts of los angeles. steve lived in L.A.for a while in the eighties.hope this helps.
