B) Stella, I think the information is wrong. Steve was very seriously ill during his childhood, but not, as far as I know, since. B)

  • Reassuringly expensive.
Thanks cockneyrebel. That's what I thought too.

They are wrong and you are right! Steve's aagents have asked the Shepherds Bush Empire management to delete reference to an 80s illness, which never existed, of course. Thank you for the "heads-up". Rachel

Perhaps the serious illness in the 80's was the whole Phantom of the Opera debacle and losing out to Michael Crawford for the starring role....ouch....only joking Steve!! That said the 80's like many other top performers was not the greatest decade for Mr.Harley.

I for one,am glad the Phantom thing went tits up for Steve,
Because if that had happened as planned,I doubt we would here today, twenty years on enjoying magnificent gigs, new music, new albums, meeting and chatting to friends far and wide.
No more likely instead of looking forward to more gigs this year, and the massive plan for the first two albums concert next year,we would probably be looking forward to a former pop star playing the widow twanky in december, in pantomime at desperate-on-sea.(are you looking in Mr.Midge Ure).!!! LOL.

p.s
Steve still did The Phantom song(s) better than Crawford ever did,and Lloyd Webber knows it too.Steve's version of 'Music of the Night' is just magnificent.
