Lots of good bands mentioned so far and a few I've not even heard of (Jimbo/Ali), but the only correlation seems to be that most Rebel fans were also into Bowie. I must admit the early stuff (Space Oddity, Man who sold the World, Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs) were almost on a par with SH and CR (almost but not quite). The 70's were a great time to be a teenager (music wise), with not only the aforementioned, but also the glam rock, 'super' groups, and later punk. Although was never an actual punk - I loved the music and had the pleasure of seeing most of the mainstream bands at the time. In fact, reviewing my list, I've just realised that I have seen all the bands mentioned - all great (especially CR), but the one that sticks out was probably Greenday - absolutely rocking!

Rebel- Glad to keep things obscure and interesting!

I love all the bands I listed, but I would LOVE to hear Rasputina cover Back to the Farm, or well, there's a few SH+CR songs that would be cool. It would be such a trip!!

Mogul Thrash.

Great Jazz/Rock with (at the time) a young John Wetton, before he joined King Crimson and long before popfabulous supergroup Asia.
Seen at Salisbury City Hall c 1972, probably in between Roxy Music and Wishbone Ash, who seemed to take turns playing there.

Some great stuff on the lists, plus others I need to check out.
Oh, and did I mention Atomic Rooster

Tough one this as a lot depends on my mood.

But consistently on my player over the years are:

Free
Faces
Pink Floyd
Alice Cooper
Squeeze
Counting Crows
Al Green
Thin Lizzy
Pat Travers
Tommy Bolin

And one I've discovered in the last few weeks:

Runaway Dorothy.
