My usual Harley mate was otherwise engaged on Fri evening so for the 2nd time this year my other half was allowed to acompany me to a Steve Harley gig. Manchester was cold, wet and windy but that was soon forgotten as the band took to the stage for 2 hours plus of fabulous music, fabulous songs. Highlights for me were All Men Are Hungry, Too Much Tenderness, Love's a Prima Donna and The Lighthouse; I'll never tire of Barry's amazing fiddle playing. Never the same twice but always breathtaking.
Cracking venue and great audience; I'm not sure that Steve planned to sing Tumbling Down in the encore but the crowd really gave him no choice with the deafening chants of "Oh dear look what they've done to the blues, blues blues!" Really hope Steve plays here again.
To quote my laid-back companion;"Top night"
