However if getting drunk involves people sitting next, behind or in front of us getting obnoxious and spoil the evening of my party of four I might swing a punch.

Dr. Evil: Don't worry, mama. Things won't get weird.

I flew in from New York for the Harrogate show in July and there were some obnoxious drunk guys hanging out just inside the theater door hollering loudly off topic and stumbling around. They were not singing happily. They weren't even watching the show. So that's MY hard earned 1,100 on top of my ticket price to come see the band I love, being interupted.

With Birm, we have a awful lot of people coming from other countries, spending a lot of money to come see an incredible band make music. I'm not talking about singing, but drunk people aren't too well know for staying on focus, and I think the concern here is that the behavior will veer away from singing into, talking loudly, shouting, jostling, moving about (not dancing) during rude moments.

No ones saying anyone can't have fun, I'll probably dancing if the chance arises, and I totally love when people sing along! But a lot of people are investing a lot of time and money in this event, not the least of which is the amazing man that will be on stage. This isn't just *some gig*

Try not to get too mad for people asking okay? Can you try and understand what people are asking and why they are worried? I think we're all gonna be just fine and have the best time ever! :)
We've all been through bad times, but you gotta pass on the good stuff to others, not the bad. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do." -Angel

Totally agree with you Keith, I was at a U2 concert many years ago, & as the band performed One, most of the audience began singing(wailing) along, fine no problem if thats what you want to do, but when I was asked why I wasn't singing I told the guy, I'm hear to see & hear U2, they perform this & every othet of their songs soooo much better than I do, thats why they're on the stage & I/we are watching them, the message might have hot through or not, but any concert I go to, I go to see & hear the particular artist who I've paid to see & hear!

Question to Big Dave - Where exactly will you be sitting?

Question to the forum - Who hopes it's not near them?

Me. I don't mind drunks but I can't stand loud ones.

Hey everyone we should all chill, as i said in my earlier thread by the end of this event no rules will be obeyed. the venue is so different from anything we have seen steve and the band play in before i am sure it will take a while for us all take in the grandure of the hall and the atmosphere, please play it by ear and dont go to this event expecting problems, if nothing else the cost of the tickets will filter through the good from the preceeived bad.

I guarantee there will be no complaints after this great event so please dont create them now.

God ive changed but still enjoying a pint or.....!!

Big Dave,

Were you the fat, bald bloke that got kicked out from upstairs at the O2 Indigo in December?

Man, was he annoying!

Very lucky he didn't get lamped before he was 'escorted' out.

Or maybe he was. I'm not sure about the security staff's policy on that sort of thing.

Judging by the state of chubby-baldy I doubt he would remember anyway. Kind of makes this post moot I suppose.
