As far as i know the Wembley concert was never filmed or recorded.Such a shame,i loved the live set at the time. Don't Go Don't Cry/Mr.Raffles/Mr.Soft/Hideaway/Back to the Farm/Understand/Sebastian/Here Comes the Sun/Sweet Dreams/Psychomodo/Sling It/Red is a Mean Colour/Nothing is Sacred/Mad Moonlight/Death Trip/Best Years of Our Lives/Make Me Smile. The reference to 'SCARED' surely relates to the song Back to the Farm where Steve screams the word several times. The guy reviewing the concert probably didn't know the actual name of the song. As for the Cat Stevens story....never heard that one before but who knows, the Wembley gig was quite a high profile one so he could have been there back stage.I'd love to hear more of Steve's recollections of those early days.Couldn't the board arrange something where we as posters all ask Steve one question each? It would be similar to those live online 'chats' that took place a while back but perhaps a lot more organized.Everyone can get their question in and Steve would have longer to dig into his memory to give the best answer possible. How about it Rachel? Something that Steve may consider? Anyone else like the idea??

Mmm Back to the Farm. Loves.

I think that is an awesome idea Mr. Raffles. What the heck would I ask...would have to think long and hard to not waste my query!

I'm not even sure myself what i would ask Steve.Probably something to do with their first ever Television appearance on the Dutch show TopPop in November 1973 performing Sebastian.Such as....have you got a video copy of it???!!!

I'm sure that 'Scared' must refer to 'Back To The Farm'.

I remember Steve doing it at Leeds Town Hall on 'The Best Years...'tour and screaming 'Scared !'over and over again. His face was uplit by a red and green spotlight from the floor on either side of the mic stand, and gesticulating wildly.
Of all the hundreds of gigs I've seen since, that lives with me vividly to this day.

And for such gestures, I fell hopelessly in love for a lifetime.

Maybe another question for Steve would be "why did you stop performing Back to the Farm Live?" It was only performed during the 1975 and 1976 tours. Given a 'one off' airing in 1999 and has never been played since. One of my favourite ever Cockney Rebel songs.

Thanks for the replies to the original posting. And the full set list as well..nice one Mr Raffles!
So Scream was/is Back To The Farm..an amazing piece of work,I first heard it on the 1976 Timeless Flight tour and never since..one day though I'm sure it will be heard in all it's glory again.(let's hope so anyway!) :woohoo:
As for Smokie, of course they were another band who had most of their hits written by Chinn n Chapman on the mighty Rak label but they could deliver a Pop song when they had to! I saw Chris Norman their X lead singer in concert ( solo ) a few years back..the boy could play and sing! he put on a fine show.
Perhaps I've imagined that Cat Stevens story? You know what us Northern Dreamers are like! ;)

Right? Holy crap if for some reason it's decided that Best Years will be done live next year I'm gonna be in trouble. Back to the Farm is one of my favorite SHCR songs. Top 5. for sure.
