.......MAELITTA ,you are totally the opposite to me i love HOBO WITH A GRIN and dont get on very well with CANDIDATE which is possibly my least played harley album ,you are right about one thing though HOBO was purposely produed in that way in an attempt to break into the american market ,but the americans just didnt get steve harley (their loss)
I did not know that !
That explains all my feelings about this album indeed. This type music is just not my cup of tea ...

I haven't heard this version of Riding the Waves yet, but I'm sort of a completionist, and I'd love to see how it evolved you know? :)
There is an excellent one on a live (recorded in Brighton and Northampton in 1989) called "Star for a Week" (CD. Strangely, I have not seen it in the official discography, on this website  ).
There is another version, more acoustic but with a lot of life in it, on Poetic Justice.

Super stoked to add both to my collection! Then I just need to get my grimy paws on Poetic Justice....
You won't be desapointed Ali.
99% of the songs of this album are top quality. I specially like The Last Time I Saw You ; very slow but very powerfull, you will love it for sure ;)
Let us know when your grimy paws will have found it and then we could compare the different sensations it brings.
