I've heard Death Trip played live just once and have always hoped (in vain - to date) to hear it played again. I have travelled all over the UK to see and hear Steve and can't wait for his next gigs here (when is the next one?).

The problem with DeathTrip is that it is such a orchestral masterpiece, it is hard for a 4/5 piece band to do it justice. Mind you they usually manage to do OK for Sebastion.

To emphasise how sad I am and continuing the theme of having Deathtrip played at my funeral, I once had a dream where I was told I only had so many weeks to live. The challenge was to get Steve Harley to agree to record a new grander version to be played at my funeral. 100 piece orchestra, huge choir, marching bands, fireworks, cannons etc etc It was to be filmed by channel 4 (Song for a funeral or something like that) and the proceeds of the 20 minute masterpiece were to go to charity. Steve agreed, but unfortunately I woke up before dying or hearing the new version in all its glory.
I know it was only a dream, but what a way to go!

Hi I am hitting 55 and first heard Steve as a fresher in the students union at Nottingham in 1973. Sebastian was on the junk box! Fell in love with the song, the artist and Alison all in 10 minutes!

I never saw him live till 1989 - the "Lockerbie" tour I think, but have seen him two or three times a year since (well missed a couple of years due to illness)

The man's music is utterly inspirational and helps one through the darker moments in life.

I hope to catch up again in 2010

Along with Curved Air, I rate Stev

Psychomodo was the first album I bought too and I played it to death!!

My best rebel memory was the first time I met Steve. I had written to his management in 1990 (can't remember what about now) and in it I mentioned that I was attending the Derby gig. They passed the letter onto Steve and I fell through the floor when I got a personal reply in his own handwriting inviting me to meet him backstage at the gig (still have the letter today - it is a treasured possession). I went to meet him and he is an amazing guy. He grabbed me to have a picture taken. LOL That was the first of many meetings as I started to take the photos for the 'then' fan club and I always got a kiss and hug from Steve and the rest of the band - in fact Robbie was enchanted by my 5 year old daughter and spent ages with her at one gig (she is 24 now and still remembers it!!)

So Steve is one hell of a guy. I don't think there could be anyone more genuine in this world.
