Marvellous,

thanks for these dates - hopefully they can be grafted on to the list that has already been sent over to Andy? :)

That Unicef Royal Gala date perhaps clears up a little mystery. I mentioned the following article from Peter's site

www.harleyfanzone.com/70/Scrapbook/1974/royals/20apr.htm

Steve couldn't remember appearing in front of the Dutch royal family (it was Amsterdam, it was the '70s).

So they were probably there (in body if not in mind ).

Steve believes it was at the Unicef Gala that he met Yvonne Paay (Keeley) who was one of the showband backing singers. Andy Williams was top of the bill.

Cheers Rachel,

an autobiography would be a fascinating read.

I've got some 1975 dates from two US Tours as well. They did the first tour during which Make Me Smile was climbing up the charts. I believe Steve and the band finished the tour, flew back to Heathrow and appeared on Top of the Pops the very next day to celebrate the song's second week at number one. This is the performance that was 'wiped' by the BBC. Later on in the year they toured the U.S, again supporting The Kinks. Some fans may have a copy of the live radio broadcast recording from the Bottomline, New York which was part of that tour. The band were as tight as a 'duck's ***' but Mr.Harley did sound a little grumpy!!

I've wanted an autobiography since I first got turned on to Steve. I'd love to hear about all of their adventures during the 70s, but if it was anything like mine, maybe they wouldn't remember! ;)
