2013 marked the 40th anniversary of many pivotal moments in the early history Cockney Rebel, possibly the most important being the release of 'The Human Menagerie'.

2014 is set to mark further treasured 40th anniversary moments and memories; with the release of 'The Psychomodo' being one of those precious highlights.

That original, beautiful, ethereal Cockney Rebel hallmarked and enriched a certain time in many of our lives.

Sadly, Saturday 21st of this month marks the 25th anniversary of tragic passing of Paul Jeffreys and his bride Rachel (nee Jones) as they flew out to New York on their honeymoon on Pan Am Flight 103.

Paul's memory will always live on in his music. We have much to thank him for.

I'm sure our thoughts will be with both families at this time.

It is hard to believe that it is almost twenty five years ago.
I can remember it being on the news as if it was only a few years ago.

I shall mark the anniversary by sticking £25 in the juke box of my club which strangely has a lot of Steve's early stuff on it, (could be something to do with me being on the committee) although it has tracks from all of his albums except Birmingham but when I see Nigel the man who maintains it, guess what? xxx

A great loss to everyone and the music industry. Is remembered every time I listen to the first two LP's.

I too remember the original CR, enjoying many glorious gigs at Friars, Aylesbury where we sang Oh dear, look what they've done to the Blues....as we strolled home, elated.
