Phew....I thought that I had been labouring under a misaprehension this past thirty years and more
As for my favourite lyric.
Tough one this.
I must admit "For sale. Baby shoes, never worn" from the new album brings a lump to my throat because that sentiment brings back the trauma my wife felt....and continues to feel to this very day....when she miscarried.
Steve's lyrics, even the most enigmatic ones, always seem to capture moments in my life and the profoundity often stuns me, as when I first heard that one.
Which of course is why I have been a big fan for the most of my life.
Cheers, Steve.
But I think I will nominate "Gee but it's hard when one lowers one's guard......to the vultures".
I was about twenty when first I head that lyric from Tumbling Down and it has served me well as a warning of how to deal with some of the people I have come across in business life.
Them vultures is always looking to pick at yer carcass....
