I've just noticed that Linda Lewis has died, at the age of 72. Saddened by this, as she had great talent, lovely vocalist and was important in the backing sound of Steve & Cockney Rebel's 'The Best Years Of Our Lives', LP (1975). She also had hits in her own right.
She epitomised the heady days of the 70's, for me.
Condolences to her family and close ones, including Jim Cregan, once Linda's husband.

Edit - apologies to all, for double entry. I had intended to include in General Discussion and so tried again but just mixed up.
Linda's five octave range - some of it - can be heard, alongside her colleagues involved in the album, including, Yvonne Keeley, Tina Charles, Martin Jay, Liza Strike, Jim Cregan and George Ford (all involved in vocal backing to Steve Harley), in 'Panorama' (Harley, 1974), below (and long since/ already in the public domain of YouTube):
Last Edit: 1 year 4 months ago by Jem 75. Reason: further clarification on vocal backing, 'Best Years...'
