Mike, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Robin 2 itself has rooms to let - a sort of bijou hotel. One fellow-fan we met in the Spring, mentioned they stayed "at the gig in a nice room" at Robin 2, Bilston.
Cheri: definitely worth checking out the venue website, which I guess is listed uner Live Dates, and check with them.
And I agree with essexboybilly, rent a car and enjoy the UK countryside at your leisure!!

Do you drive Cheri? Or your friend?

Renting a small car will save a lot of money, and you can usually hire for a little extra a Sat Nav from them - problem solved!
Collect at the airport, deliver back to the airport!

I've thought of driving, but I've heard that driving in London is hard, especially since I'm used to driving on the other side of the road than you people do. I think my best bet is taking taxis in London, the coach to Milton Keynes, then trains to Bury St. Edmunds and Wolverhampton. I'm excited about the trip, but scared to death about missing connections, etc.

Thanks for the link to the trains. I will check it out. :)

There is new hotel accommodation behind a pub in Bilston (a two minute walk from the venue) called the Olde White Rose (good beer and food too). Telephone number is (01144)1902 498339.

Is the pub called the Olde White Rose, or is the hotel called the Olde White Rose?

It would be fun to meet up at a pub before the show. Who here is going to the Bilston show?

Just to let you know, I've sent in the application to find my birth certificate so I can get a passport. Keep your fingers crossed that they can find it -- I was born a looooooong time ago. ;) First things first; I need the birth certificate before I can start planning for the trip.

I didn't miss a single one. My advice? For the truly paranoid: *guilty look* Ask for a wake up call at the hotels but don't trust them; bring a good travel alarm clock you trust. Have several forms of an itnerary written out (a little pocket notebook is just the thing) of places and times you need to be at, and ALWAYS BE EARLY. A folder to hold tickets/ticket print outs and hotel reservations/reciepts.

Put the wrong times intentionally if needs be. Your coach/train says be there by 10:30? Write 10:20. Just be in the moment the whole time. Sure relax and have a goodtime but just soak it all in and be there while you're there. Oh honey you're gonna have a ball.
We've all been through bad times, but you gotta pass on the good stuff to others, not the bad. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do." -Angel
