I just know that someone on this forum can point me in the right direction. I am doing all I can to spread the word about Steve over here, talking, buying people CDs, etc. Now I have two friends who are guitarists and we spend many evenings singing and playing guitar. They know how much I love Steve's music and they have some of his CDs, but it's hard for them to learn songs by listening to a CD. Therefore, I'm trying to find out if there are any Steve Harley songbooks out there somewhere so my friends and I can sing and play his songs. I was talking to Deborah on Facebook and she sent me a link where I was able to buy one copy of "Make Me Smile" sheet music, but I'm wondering if any of you know of a site where my friends and I can get lyrics and chords to more of his songs. And my fervent wish is that there is actually a songbook somewhere with a whole collection of music. Can anyone help me??? Thanks so much. :)

Take care, everyone! Cheri

Cheri,
I'm not sure about where to find the sheet music on the Internet,
sure someone on here can point you in the right direction?
I don't think a book with music etc has been published but
I may be wrong?
However for starters I've got the sheet music to Mr Raffles
which i'd be happy to send you via post? or scan via email?
Let me Know if you need Mr Raffles for your friends? :)
Regards, Stewart

Stewart, it would be fantastic if you were able to mail me the sheet music to Mr. Raffles. Whereever did you find it in the first place? My address is below:

Cheri Ives
2527 Twin Creeks Drive
San Ramon, CA 94583
USA

Any idea where I can find sheet music to some of his current stuff; i.e., songs from The Quality of Mercy, Poetic Justice or Stranger Comes to Town?

I hope you and your family are happy and well. It was wonderful seeing you in Birmingham. :D

Take care, Cheri

Hi, Billy! :) I went to the site you pointed me to and it was helpful, but they have incomplete lyrics, or sometimes no lyrics, to the songs. And no music notes. Also, I had somewhat of a problem printing the webpage as my printer for some reason is choosing the smallest font possible for printing purposes. But I want to thank you for taking the time to find it for me. I do appreciate it very much. Steve Harley fans are the best! :) Sorry I didn't see you in Birmingham, but I am the proud owner of two free tickets to my concert of choice from the Birmingham raffle, so maybe we will have another chance. :) I'll give the chords to my friends Scott and Dale and see what they can do with them. Personally, I'd LOVE to see Steve come to the USA, preferably Northern California. I can dream, can't I?

Hi Cheri,

thanks once again for the Birmingham ticket - great to have been there. I'm sorry I didn't catch you afterwards - I was soaked by rain fairly quickly and headed back to my hotel for a bath and then a pint in the bar.

The lyrics for Steve's later CDs should be with the cover/booklet that comes with the CD.

You could try to pick up the tune or two by ear off of some of the live Youtube recordings? That might be possible.

I can send you the lyrics and sheet music to Judy Teen if you like?

If you are up for it, could you record it on film and put it up on Youtube - I'd love to see your guys tackle the lyrics with an American twang! (It could go viral).

All the best, Gerry
