No time to compile a full list now, but a couple of tracks spring to mind.

The first was a song called 'Mister it's your lucky day' by Gillian Burns. It was Kid Jenson' record of the week and so played each day. By Friday I was hooked, but after the 5 listens I don't think i ever heard it again. Might be dated by now (i thnk it was 1978), but would love to hear it again - but have failed miserably to find a download.

The 2nd track was also a radio 1 record of the week, but again I don't think it ever charted. The song is 'I cheat and I lie' by Won Ton Ton. I would implore you to listen on youtube as this song should definately have been a monster.

Not quite a monster but on the lines of where are they now. There was a group called the Vetoes that played the Dog and Trumpet in Coventry in the early 80's. They had a fantastic sound and deserved to be a monster themselves but never made it.
I often wonder what became of them or if any of their recordings still exist?

World Party - Ship Of Fools
Steve Harley - (Love) Compared With You
Duncan Browne - The Wild Places
Metro - Criminal World
Roy Harper - One Of Those Days In England
Jake Thackray - The Bull (just to pick one out)
Clifford T Ward - Home Thoughts From Abroad
Eric Carmen/Raspberries - Overnight Sensation
Head East - Never Been A Reason
Brian Protheroe - Pinball

Kiki Dee and Linda Lewis should be in there somewhere perhaps....

....IMHO I think 'Compared With You' and 'Home Thoughts' are two of the best love songs ever written.

Never know, someday they could still be monster, monster hits bubbelah.
