On the issue of 'missing words' I thought there was a technical problem during the second half and Steve seemed to be struggling with something on his waist? I think it cut the mike for a bit? It is a live show, things do wonky occasionally I'm afraid.

Got back home to sunny Walthamstow on Sunday after a great weekend. I loved the gig and so did my partner, Linda. So a few lyrics were dropped - who cares? And if you do, then go and see someone who mimes, there are plenty out there. Steve was honest enough on the night to admit on stage to using a teleprompt for a couple of the number, so fair play to him. What I saw was a performer giving 100 per cent and being genuine with the fans.

When the audience started singing - unprompted, - what a truly emotional moment that was. Steve was great and so were the rest of the guys, and Steve Norman - wow, get him in the band quick. It was brilliant seeing Steve in front of a full house and after the show I could see people with tears in their eyes. I loved everything about the show and to be honest I never expected to hear “Come up and See Me”, so, no big deal there. And another plus: it was a joy listening to Steve without some fat middle-aged, drunk bloke barking away in my ear. Great show Steve, cheers

Any artist can expect critique and (secretly?) hope for near-psychotic fawning adulation.

Surely such views, and all opinions in-between, should be tolerated on here? Harley was an outlier in his day, a rebel of sorts - so diverse opinions should be OK on here (of all places)?

When the same thing is viewed through different filters; take you pick - whether it be a red mist, green-eyed gods, beer goggles, rose-tinted spectacles and so on - you are always going to get a difference of opinion.

And y'know, with a healthy exchange of ideas and discussion people can sometimes come to change their perceptions or alter yours.

Agree to disagree if need be, but hi, come on, there is no need for the personal stuff on here though - it's unnecessary and can cut to the quick. No need to do that. Let the man have his say.

It was a great night, better than I had hoped for; but it wasn't perfect. Who expected perfection - it's live! So there is wriggle room for criticism isn't there?

And any good artist will know how to panhandle criticism; filtering out the genuine nuggets that may help, from the fool's gold.

First, I AM NOT HIM/HER!!! I am merely "raffles" a long-standing supporter of the website since Dave Hornby started it way back when. And I agree, HE WASN'T THERE!!! what a night that was, so many amazing lyrics to stir the imagination and so many beautiful melodies. It was a big project, brilliantly executed. There are mischief makers out there, for some reason or other we can't fathom. Is Mr Raffles/Lyndon B Johnson aged 12 and maybe even Hobo With A Grin, who always sides with Mr R on the negatives all ONE PERSON with an axe to grind????? We think so. I don't contribute here very offten, but these negs have got my back up.
Great T-shirt, by the way. Hope and expect it sold in bucket-loads to those who got the point of the artwork!! Bring on the Albert Hall. And let's hope Mr Raffles and his mate Lyndon aged 12 get lost on the way to the next one.
We are still feeling high over the whole event. Didn't get to Jury's or the bar but the hall was enough for us. The most memorable event we've ever been to, even surpassed the Pet Sounds Brian Wilson show. Top man, Steve.

Indeed, to have got the event on, everything in place and ready to go must have been exhausting in itself - and then to have to perform (as the main man) for that amount of time. Amazing.

There were naturally a very few little 'condor' moments - but so what - that didn't distract - it added to the evening.
He fessed up to the autocue (I didn't notice that in his performance - couldn't guess which songs they were) and he mentioned he was even performing a song or two that he had never performed live before. Fantastic night, more standing ovations than little glitches.
