On 16th May next year I will be taking part in the London MoonWalk along with two of my daughters, Jemima and Hannah. We are walking as team dayfamily. This event raises much money each year for this Breast Cancer Charity. It's great fun and mostly women, but also some men, take part in this 26.2 mile walk, at night in highly decorated bras!
Rachel and (presumably) Steve have given me permission to leave a link to my everydayhero giving page here on the website which should really help to boost sponsorship. It's easy to donate and no amount is too small (or too big :) ) and if you're a taxpayer don't forget to "giftaid" your donation.
Here's the link below. Please help us raise as much as possible for this disease which affects so many women.

Many Thanks. Stella x

Some very generous donations mean that I have already reached my personal goal of £150. Thank you so much. You know who you are ;) *. My daughters, Jemima and Hannah (the other members of dayfamily team) are not doing so well so I'm asking anyone who was considering donating to donate to them instead. Their everyday hero pages can be reached via my original link or alternatively, directly as below.

Thanks for so many very generous donations so far. Some people have been very kind. We're very grateful. There are still six months left until the walk so plenty of time left to donate :).

Some statistics for you.

There are an estimated 570,000 people living in the UK today who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
In the UK
Breast cancer is the most common cancer
Over 50,000 women and around 350 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year
One woman in eight will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime
Around 12,000 women and 80 men will die from breast cancer each year
Breast cancer is the second biggest cause of death from cancer in women
More people are surviving breast cancer than ever before
Over 80% of women with breast cancer are still alive five years after diagnosis
40 years ago, the five year survival rate for breast cancer was around 50 per cent
People are surviving longer thanks to advances in research, new treatments, earlier diagnosis, breast screening and breast cancer awareness

Many thanks Tomba for your donation and the mention in the Guestbook.
I've reached my goal thanks to some very generous donations but my daughters Hannah and Jemima are still struggling to reach theirs. Fivers and Tenners as well as larger donations are very welcome!

With less than three months to go training has now started in earnest. My donations goal was reached early on with one exceedingly generous donation of £100 from a Harley fan amongst others. However my daughters, Jemima and Hannah have thus far only raised £26.50 and £46.50. Please dig deep for this very worthy cause and donate what you can. Fivers and tenners also very welcome.
