Cheri, if you are returning to Milton Keynes on Sunday with just overnight luggage I and my brother Alan will be more than happy to pick the three of you up from Milton Keynes and drop you back. I can switch cars, and we can have a good old sing song there and definately back, the pleasure would be all yours!! xxx

Hi Cheri,
trains from MILTON KEYNES CENTRAL take around 55-90 minutes(DEPENDING ON WHICH YOU CATCH) to get to BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET and there are approx FOUR direct trains per hour. There are large luggage storage areas in the vestibules of each train carriage,if you ask at milton keynes station they will provide a porter to assist you to the correct Departure platform.
If you go for the VIRGIN trains at 13 minutes after the hour (10.13,11.13,12.13) they only take 55 minutes and BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET will be your third stop,it stops at COVENTRY,BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL (DO NOT GET OFF THERE) and then NEW STREET.all stops will be announced via the train intercom. When you arrive at NEW st.Station go up the escalators and follow the exit signs, after passing through the ticket barriers go to your right to the Taxi ranks about fifty yards away . There will be hundreds of black cabs waiting there as it is one of the busiest stations in England. The Jurys Inn is only five minutes by cab and will cost less than ten dollars, about 5 or six pounds.
You will be able to book your Virgin train ticket online at WWW.VIRGINTRAINS.CO.UK . You will not be able to book this yet as there is only a couple of months window in their booking system,I suggest if you go for the 12.13 departure from MK then you will arrive at B'HAM NEW STREET at around ten minutes after one,so with the cab ride you will be at the hotel before half past one, where you should be able to check in then or soon after.I am plannig on being at the hotel for around 13.00 myself and will be in the lobby area to meet and greet!
hope this is not too complicated, remember e-mail me anytime and of course you have my cell phone number. xxx
jimbo.
Jumbo, what would I do without you? You have been so helpful and kind. I hope we can spend some time together at the before and after parties so I can get to know you better. The Indigo O2 was wonderful, but of course our concentration was on Steve. :)

Love, Cheri

Phantom, a ride to and from the venue would be spectacular. Of course, we wouldn't have just overnight luggage--we would be carrying our large international luggage. Do you still think you would have room? Please, please, please e-mail me your cell phone number to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Otherwise, I will take Jumbo's advice on taking a train to Birmingham. It would be more fun to ride with you and your brother, however, especially as we sort of know each other from The Stables last year. :) I thought you were giving Debs a ride too, no? I hope it won't be too crowded, but it would be a blast to ride with you and I can't thank you enough for the offer.

Love, Cheri

Vaguely related, I've been pricing airfare. Definitely cheaper in Nov, compared to July, but yikes, flying into Birm is definitely bringing the price up. I am also checking airports in the surrounding area as well. I REALLY don't want to have to fly into Heathrow again just to save some scratch, then bus to Birm. Blech. No. Hahah. (although I totally understand the coach system now, I'm no fan of Heathrow.)

I'm playing with the idea of flying in from Toronto, but we'll see.

have a look at flights to Manchester Ana,they will be cheaper than flights to Birmingham, guaranteed.then its a fairly quick train ride-(ABOUT 90 MINUTES INCLUDING A SHORT TRANSFER FROM THE DEDICATED AIRPORT STATION TO MANCHESTER PICCADILLY)- down to Birmingham, loads of direct trains from manchester piccadilly station to birmingham new street, and then same instructions as I gave to cheri above. xx
