I wish to god I'd kept my old Dansette now. It had four speeds on it but I can't remember what the fourth speed was. A Dansette was a record player for those of you who were deprived [or had taste] in the days before stereo, mine had a green lid and I wore it out as a child with Beatles, Searchers,Hollies,Dusty Springfield and Dionne Warwick records I badgered my sorely missed Dad for. Goose bumps all over just thinking about it. xxx

I think it was 16, 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm ?

Never saw anything that played at 16rpm, but played things at that speed for a giggle.

Mam and Dad had some 78's, including some Elvis Presley stuff. I wish we hadn't broken them as kids playing skittles with them. Never did care for Elvis much, would have made a fortune from them now.

Note to self, carefully try this with my player and vinyl.

Other note to self, get The Hollies on vinyl. UNF.

Hi Snowy. I eventually did play it at 45 RPM but I did not hear anything. May be a slow hollow voice, but I could not catch a single word :(

But that was actually a funny experience : what appears to be one of the most powerfull song ever for me, suddenly gets transformed into an hilarious stuff.
Had a good laugh, thanks at least for that !

Snowy, a friend gave me a hand. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT !

Don't know if it's "allowed" here to post a link, but I thought it could be interesting for all the fans. Great surprise !
