Steve tends to choose venues in places that have a bit of an historic setting.Colchester(tonight)the oldest recorded town in England,Harrogate which is beautiful and (Royal) Leamington Spa which sounds lovely and very close to Warwick Castle which you shouldn't miss.I think the Wavendon/Leamington Spa combination would work quite well as they're not too far apart.Enjoy the music, the people and the history Ali.The one thing we as Brits can't promise is good weather!!

I'm so envious I'm drooling! ;) Ali, isn't it nice how the fans and Steve are taking care of you?? I only wish I could be there, too. You will have a fantastic time, the trip of a lifetime. Maybe you will even be able to meet Steve. You lucky, lucky girl. Keep us posted as much as you can about what you are doing on your trip. We will be waiting to hear from you with wide eyes and open mouths, lol. :)

Dear Ali, Depending on where you are staying and who'm with, I would be delighted to escort and accompany you to the Wavendon gig as it is not far from my humble abode. I can pick you up and drop you off wherever you need to be, just let me know. We can accommodate you overnight for the Wavendon gig (or as long as you bleedin' well like darlin'). You will be sleeping at my lovely mum's house just around the corner from us as we are full. You will be fed and watered naturally and we have hot running water !!!!!!

Oh god, that would be fantastic. Almost everyone I know who lives in England lives no where near any of the gigs. I don't take up a lot of room (a closet would be fine) and I live off of cheese and crackers. We'll of course be in touch as it gets closer to the big BIG day!

I have a feeling I am going to love it all. My friend who lived over there for a few years said "This place is for you."

I am used to the 6 months of snow Western New York gets "visited" by every year, compared to that anything is "good weather!" Since it will be in the summer, I can't imagine you guys will have snow! ;)

It is very nice indeed, deary. I need to be taken care of in this situation. In some ways I am such a backwoods hick in all honesty. I've never been anywhere outside the U.S! (Canada doesn't count because I'm from Buffalo!)

I don't know about getting to meet Steve. I don't know how people seem to end up meeting people like that! I met Bruce Campbell at a book signing once...that's really not the same thing. Who knows what will happen on this crazy journey I'm going to take! :silly:

As I'm relatively close to California (well...Washington State, but closer than the UK) I'm sending some Harley stuff you might enjoy. Ebay is notorious for scumbags who rip off not only fans but also the artists. Real fans share freely (need to stress I'm pirating nothing and happily sending at my expense).
I bought Cockney Rebel's first two lp's all those years ago and have been a casual fan (never seen him live) ever since.
Saw this site the other day after googling Steve.

Dave E, I am not ignoring you, I think I was just surprised by your post and got caught up in Ana's upcoming trip to the UK to see Steve. You are being most generous and I thank you so very much for thinking of me. :)

I'm curious: How did you become a fan of Steve Harley? How did you hear about him? It's always good to find fans in the US; they are few and far between. I only wish there were more so Steve would come over here and do some concerts!

Yours gratefully,
Cheri

B) I hope you get to meet SH AlizarinStag. I confess to being a little bit envious! I have been a fan since 1974, and have never met the man: My dear friend Julie, also a great fan, who has met SH many times tried to make it happen once but SH was too busy to come to say hello. Good luck!!

what suggestions do you require ,if its which gigs then everyone is a blast ,why not research some of the places your thinking of going ,we have some beautiful places to visit ,and a VAST VAST history ,just cram as much in as you can ,like i mentioned before NATIONAL coaches are cheap and clean ,and bring plenty of film for your camera ,you can fit a short lifetime into a week ,and when you let this site know which gigs your going to you wont be short of freinds ,just wear a red carnation or something (god that sounds corny) and the fans will keep a lookout for you (or even your top hat)

Checking out travel arrangements the coach idea looks like the best one. :) Thanks for the suggestion. I'm also going to make sure my camera is all set because I went to New Orleans (the best place I have been yet) and my camera exploded on me. I have maybe two pictures from the whole thing.

The top hat is a little over a hundred years old so it will be staying home. As a hobby costumer I do have a bowler as well. Might be easier to pack and let's face it, very apropos! ;)
